Kate Moss adds fuel to the Size
Zero fire
Kate Moss has taken Karl Lagerfeld’s side with her controversial statements on the size zero debate.
In one of her rare interviews, this time with Women’s Wear Daily, Kate Moss has caused a new wave of scandal. Now we get why the famous supermodel usually doesn’t speak to journalists! After answering standard questions about her latest Topshop collection and her new fragrance, called Vintage, the publication asked the star if there are any mottos that inspire her. Kate answered that one of her inspirations is the saying “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”.
Her revelation has caused horror and outrage, must like Karl Lagerfeld’s remarks a few weeks ago. We love the current trend of normal sized models on the runways, and Karl and Kate’s statements have only turned the current situation sour. In a culture where young girls feel constant pressure to stay thin, statements from such influential figures in the fashion world do not help to promote a healthy body image for the young girls of today. Quite simply, we would have preferred if Kate had kept her mouth shut!
