French woman wins the “second best job

in the world”

France’s Florence Romuald has recently been awarded the second best job in the world: an international shopping consultant. Her task is to travel to seven first class shopping destinations and spend money… we are green with jealousy!

The world’s best job is living on a small Australian island and being paid a fortune to blog about the location. Number two on the list is Florence’s job: an international shopping consultant. Florence gets to travel all over the world to shop! Florence Romuald won the worldwide contest at the end of December. Not a bad Christmas present! At the beginning of November, she like the 10,000 other candidates responded to the offer by the price comparison company letsbuyit.com. After Florence sent her CV, letter of motivation and a video showing her bubbly and fun personality. After being initially selected, Florence had to pass numerous interviews and psychological tests on order to win the job. A psychology graduate, Florence had formerly worked in events management and human resources. Both her impressive professional career and her personality instantly attracted the members of the letsbutit.com jury. The co-founder of the company Pauline Dubuc was charmed immediately, “She is dynamic and full of life, but it also an excellent communicator. She is also very cosmopolitan as she speaks English, Italian and Spanish”.

Florence’s first task as part of her “job” is to spend 10,000 Euros in Paris, Tokyo, Berlin, Milan, New York, London and Hong Kong in order to hunt down the best shops and to document the hottest trends. She gets to travel first class, is put up in luxury hotels and is paid a 5,000 Euro salary. The cherry on top of all of this? She gets to keep whatever she buys in the world’s best shopping cities. Poor, poor girl!

In addition to all of this, Florence is paid to keep a blog on letsbuyit.com, where she will share all of her tips and favourite buys. For the founders of Let’s But It, the operation will be a great source of publicity. The idea will help to” gain loyal members of the site’s community”.

We can’t wait for Florence to start her journey and to share her discoveries with us. Some have all the luck!
