Cuissardes

Cuissardes

Thigh high boots are boots that reach above the knee, sometimes all the way to mid-thigh length. Originally, this style of boots was worn by fishermen to protect their kegs from the water and were held up by braces. Today, thigh boots are a major fashion accessory.

Today, their style has evolved greatly and the boots are now sold in leather, latex and vinyl. They sometimes also feature heels or pointed toes. The boots were commonly considered vulgar and were rarely worn as everyday footwear.

Since Winter 2006-2007, they have established themselves as an ultra-trendy fashion accessory. Exit the sexy, leather pointed boots. Designers now create new generation thigh-highs that can be worn for all sorts of occasions in a wide variety of styles.
