Traditionally, the wrap is a design worn by dancers over a tutu or a leotard. However, since the late twentieth century it has become an everyday style. Most wraparound sweaters are made of cotton or fleece and are sold in light pastel colours by dance clothing labels everywhere, like Repetto for example.
Today, wraps are no longer a dance accessory but are worn as a normal sweater in classic styles. Marks like Camaieu, Zara, Petit Bateau and Xanaka have made the wrap a signature piece of their collections. Designers like Cop Copine, Les Petites and La City regularly release coloured wraps in different lengths.
