A canvas bag is a flat-based bag made of flexible material with two handles. It is carried either by hand or over the shoulder. Originally a shopping bag, canvas bags have now become a handbag and its uses have multiplied.
The shopping bags are now used as everyday bags, beach bags, school bags… they are so handy they can be used for virtually anything! Designers now regularly create canvas handbags. In 2007, Vanessa Bruno unveiled her toile canvas bag covered in sequins. The bag was a huge success and was soon bought in every colour. For Autumn/Winter 2006-2007m Marc Jacobs released a metallic canvas bag in black, red and silver shiny materials. For Spring/summer 2008, Chanel also designed a black satin canvas bag.
